Our Narrative Journey in Pictures

Three MHTP 5 participants have beautifully illustrated their narrative journey, capturing through these drawings what stands out to them in narrative practice, and the meaning they have extracted from their training so far.  Take a look at Mamta, Kusum and Prathamesh’s fabulously creative work!

"Externalization: The process of seeing all the different emotions outside yourself and cut down to size. A very empowering technique! Stories: Each of us has a bouquet of stories that we keep hidden, and narrative therapy helps us come out with each of these beautiful stories, one at a time!" -Mamta Govil Project Head - Awareness, Latika Roy Foundation

"As a career psychologist learning about narrative therapy, the image of a forest came to mind. Just as there are many different types and sizes of trees, there are diverse career options, each having its own strengths, personality, and importance. In this drawing, I have depicted a waterfall, which gives life to every tree, shrub and plant. Similarly, each person has qualities that bring them to life, and narrative therapy helps highlight these qualities. I have also shown various colorful paths leading to the trees, some merging with each other. This is a symbol of the variety of paths people can take to find a career that's right for them. Narrative therapy is used to explore life paths with clients, and it allows the client to choose his/her own path, building their sense of agency". -Prathamesh Kapote Career Psychologist
